RS Property Services Maintenance Ltd was incorporated in 2013 by Roger Springham, who had already “done up” various properties in Scotland. In 2015, Roger moved the operation from his homeland to Shorts Gardens in London and on 7th January 2015 carried out his first maintenance job replacing cracked windows in Praed Street. Later that year, he completed his first full property refurbishment in Monmouth Street. This twin approach of maintenance and projects has remained and evolved into useful synergistic bedfellows.

The company has grown organically since 2015 with no borrowings. The business’s two operating arms has been found to be beneficial in the crossover of skillsets and labour allocations. This provides a useful contingency and ensures continuity for our maintenance programmes and refurbishment projects.

In April 2018, having completed 2,000 jobs, the company embarked on operating a Quality Management System, which provides us with the management tools to ensure that we meet the demanding needs of our customers and other stakeholders within the industry’s increasingly onerous statutory and regulatory requirements.

Having recently completed over 8,000 jobs in the Covent Garden area, RS Property Services (as it’s known) remains an approachable, locally-based, responsive and versatile building company that seeks to deliver both day-to-day maintenance tasks and residential & commercial projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.

BSI (British Standards Institution)

With ever increasing demands on quality, price and service, we at RS Property Services decided that the most effective way to give our customers real confidence was through a structured certificated Quality Management System (QMS).

For us as a relatively small business, this was not as daunting as it might have appeared as it allowed us to base our business systems on the way we wanted to operate. We set off in the autumn of 2017 and were certified by BSI (British Standards Institution) in the spring of 2018 under the new QMS standard, ISO 9001:2015.

  • ISO 9001 is the recognized quality management system standard worldwide. It confirms that we have put in the effort to develop our systems to meet the standard, in order to continue supplying a service that consistently meets our exacting customers’ requirements.
  • Through the process of continuing to review and improve systems, the standard has positively helped our business ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and increase the effectiveness of our operations. This in turn has provided opportunities for orders, increased profitability and stability in the business.
  • Our staff are more satisfied too as a result of their confidence in having a common system and logical processes to enable them to consistently get things right.
  • Our customer research has shown that we have attracted new customers as a direct result of implementing and gaining certification. Further, we can demonstrate that the improvements in our service has had a direct impact on increasing the level of trust our customers have shown in our business and staff.
  • Our team is able to speedily respond if things go wrong and agree a course of corrective action to prevent risk of a more serious outcome.
  • Certification has enabled us to tender potential new customers and increase business. This is possible as the certificate itself gives them confidence that we have been recognized with this exacting standard.
